To Chew or not to Chew

From Starred Photos

The local Laundromat has over the years become the centre where drug addicts come to get their fix (abuse).
This is a conversation with a Somalian man who is hooked on Khat a leaf that is chewed around here by a large Somalian population in the UK. The drug is legal in the UK but illegal in America.

I have seen loads of people under the influence of this drug with some people acting normal whilst chewing it(except for the spitting of the nasty green residue) but what I fear is the effect the drug has on people who are totally addicted and display psychotic and junkie tendencies. The man in the video has been seen on occasions by me pacing up and down the streets in a dazed manner and sometimes sleeping rough around the den where the drug is sold.

What do you think about Khat? Its effect and how it ties in with drug abuse from weed to alcohol.
Did God produce create these plants for medicinal purposes or abuse and would he approve of how man has utilized plants and their extracts?

On reflection I thought this video was not as funny as it seems but a sad reflection of the fall of man into sin as a result of the events in the Garden of Eden.
Please remember to pray fro people under all sorts of abuse in their lives.
Take Care.

Here are more Khat videos:

"Did God produce create these plants for medicinal purposes or abuse..." Is it not debatable if God created plants or if he exist at all? To a closed minded brain-washed fanatic it is not.
Do we blame the fire or the lighter that caused the fire, for the fire itself? Do happy rich people become addicted to drugs? Or is it mostly poor depressed hopeless people? I'm sure many Somalians have come from one war zone to another. It's easy to turn and say, well I never became hooked on drugs, I have Jesus... But then again it's harder for some people to brain wash themselves into believing something to make this bitter sweet life more endurable, even if it brings benefits to some of us, yet divides most of us, as the beast dictates an effective divide and rule policy.
(Feel free to use this message as you want. Excuse the anonymity, I'm just being lazy, but any way most Christians I meet would rather avoid such open minded theological discussions as the great white man has given them all the answers and 'praise white Jesus'.) Please try and watch a TV show called The Boondocks. Particualily the last episode, the passion of rev ruckus.)

Well what is not debatable is that the man in the video does not seem able to even hold a coversation which is a sad sight to see. Fortunately I have never taken drugs myself, this was as a rsult of being around others that did and not because Im a sanctified and holy Christian. I have never been fortunate enoig to look upon the face of the Lord so cannot cliam to have been brianwashed into praising a 'white Jesus' I can only testify to his goodness and grace in my life and thank him for bringing me through some really togh times.

On the note of these people coming from one warzone to another is that an excuse for drug abuse????????

However on the note of it being easy to say 'well I never became hooked on drugs I have Jesus' may I suggest to you that you are not aware of how many people came to be Christians, and most likely many have been in situations where it would have been easier to block out all pain with drugs and found their strength in Jesus.

Everybody deals with truma in different ways... for some it drugs..for some its the Lord..for others... who knows.

But all you know isnot all there is to know, have you been a refugee from a war torn country??????? Do you know the Lord?????

I know people myself that have fled war torn countries and NOT turned to drugs
