I am at the point in my life where i need to take a stand for Christ and get rid of the sins that are holding me back and the false idols i have occupied my life with - it is a struggle but he is good and will not give me a load i can not bear - i dont want to gain the world and waste my life - pray for me and i will pray for you on this road - SEEK ETERNITY

A Christian
A Christian
Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a
church in Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an
occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he
sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a
quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to
himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to
keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who
would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets
too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from
God' and keep quiet.'
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he
handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much
change.'
The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in
town?'
'Yes' he replied.
'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to
worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too
much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'
When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the
nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son
for a quarter.'
Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a
really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and
will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You
carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself
'Christian.'
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder. So, I choose to
forward it to you - my friend. God bless you; I hope you are having a
wonderful day!
If you don't pass this on to anybody, nothing bad will happen; but, if
you do, you will have ministered to someone.
The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not
PROTECT you...
Stay FAITHFUL and Be GRATEFUL!

Dude how come you dont attach your name to your posts because it will be nice to know who I am addressing this to. Yes i did watch the clip and no I do not remember talking to you about it.The heading was just a figure of speech and should not be taking literally. You ask some good questions because the incedence of mental illness within the black community in the UK is disproportinately high and may be (not sure)less in Africa? This is correlated with the high number of Black people who are put in mentaly institutions. It is a serious topic which should be looked at and as you said should not be swept under the carpet.
Regarding the Bondocks clip - this poses some good questions about the acceptability of Jesus to Black people because of his colour. My answer to that is that its not about his colour but his blood that washed away my sins. Under the new covenant with God there is no bonded man, Jew or Greek or African for that matter. The clip however to an extent reinforces the steroytypes about black people ie. stupid, obsessed with the N word, gun crazy etc etc. However I guess it trys to address serious and touchy issues from the perspective of a Hiphop orientated culture without seeming to be on a crusade or without being too serious.
Thanks for the Post and stay blessed.

Thought for the day
As a christian I have my flaws and struggles with the flesh, sometimes I fall but I have come to the conclusion that Christ has paid the price and if i believe that his blood truly washed away my sins then I should be able to ask for forgiveness, repent and most importantly forgive myself. When you fall get up and brush the dirt of your shoulder - move on and forget about the past.Learn from your mistakes (easier said done done).
So many of us find it hard to forgive ourselves for or shortcomings in Gods eyes.
But God does not hold a grudge.
Why would God give as another day to live just after we have sinned?
Because he believes in another chance for us.
He knows our future with him is greater than our past without him.
He wants us to be renewed.
Everyday we wake up and take a breath it is God saying Kwabena (put your name here) its a new day today, yesterday you fornicated, stole, killed, cheated, coveted and sinned against me, BUT today is new day and my Grace and Blood has washed you, so pick up your weapons (BIBLE) and run a GOOD race. You cant give up as long as you breath you must always come back to me when you fail.I will Always love you.
GIVE YOUR IMPOSSIBILITIES TO JESUS
